Christoph Bollgen is market segment manager of Thermoprocess Technology at JUMO, a high-tech supplier of innovative products in the field of measurement, control, and automation technology. His journey began as a college teaching assistant, earning a bachelor's degree in Automation and Robotics from the University of Applied Science Fulda, Germany, and receiving a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Texas in Arlington. After joining JUMO, he successfully continued his education, gaining expertise about topics such as theoretical and practical issues of heat treatment. Christoph shares his knowledge through webinars and market segment days, helping clients address their challenges effectively by using his ability to stay informed about market trends. Larissa Vielela Costa, is currently the metallurgist responsible for the continuous heat treatment line (CHTL) — a quench and temper line — at the state-of-the-art plate mill Nucor Steel Brandenburg (NSBB) located in Brandenburg, Kentucky. A dedicated metallurgist with a PhD, she is responsible for defining and coordinating the heat treatment tests and trials in the company's different steel grades in development, defining the heat treatment parameters, evaluating the mechanical and metallurgical properties obtained, and training and giving support to the collaborating team of operators and technicians. With her years of research and expertise, Larissa mentors and leads co-ops at Nucor Brandenburg, not only with the objective of having good metallurgists for the future market, but also with a passion for heat treatment, as these professionals are so hard to find.
