40 Under 40 Class of 2023 Highlights: Justin Jennings and Zach Morgan

Heat Treat Today is privileged to oversee the 40 Under 40 recognition awards highlighting a group of rising young leaders in the North American heat treat industry every year. The Class of 2023 is a high-achieving, motivated, and heart-felt group of significant contributors to the heat treat market. Here are two highlights from this year’s class.

Justin Jennings is a staff materials engineer at John Deere. Justin’s most recent accomplishments at John Deere have been leading John Deere Enterprise Material Competency Areas of Bar Steel, Heat Treatment, Adhesives & Non-Ferrous Electrical Materials and guiding research and development of new material technologies and process for various John Deere applications.
In terms of giving back to the industry, Justin has mentored numerous senior design projects at Iowa State University and Purdue University, as well as summer interns and fresh graduates at Deere, helping them work in heat treatment and materials engineering. He also sits on the industrial advisory board for WPI's CHTE, Purdue University’s Purdue Heat Treatment Center, and Bar Steel’s committee for Advanced Steel Processing & Products Research Center in Colorado School of Mines. Zach Morgan is the senior project engineer at Super Systems, Inc. He wields extensive knowledge of controls as it relates to the heat treat industry, his ability to put that knowledge into practice in a way that yields real world results, his initiative, leadership, and most importantly his care that he has demonstrated for his clients.
He has demonstrated deep knowledge of controls, software, wiring, plumbing, mechanical retrofits, and understands how a furnace (any furnace) works and thus how to manage and execute a project from start to finish. Read more about Zach here.
